Hefzi Alvarez is a Venezuelan-American consultant and founder whose career sits at the intersection of federal systems, workforce development, and the operational reality of building something from the ground up.
She built Meridian & Co out of a simple observation: the organizations that claim to support diverse women often create the conditions that exhaust them. Culture audits reveal good intentions. What they miss is architecture.
Across federal human services, workforce equity initiatives, and her own enterprise, she has spent a decade asking the same question from different rooms: what conditions allow people — and the organizations built to serve them — to reach their full potential? That question has taken her from direct community work with bilingual and immigrant populations, to federal program operations, to the discipline of building something of her own. Each context a different lens. The question never changed.
Meridian & Co is the integration of everything she has learned: about what makes a woman thrive at work, what makes a room feel safe enough to tell the truth, and what it takes to convert lived experience into lasting organizational impact.
10+ years across federal program management, workforce development, and organizational strategy. Fluent in English, Spanish, and French. Based in Prosper, Texas.
The gap is never in the woman. It is always in the conditions, the structures, and the conversations that are not happening.
From Latin meridianus — "of noon, of midday." The point at which the sun reaches its
apex. The moment of fullest light and fullest clarity.
We named this company for that moment — because we believe every organization, and every
woman inside one, is capable of reaching it. That is not a metaphor for our work.
It is the destination.
We audit before we advise. Every engagement begins with listening — to the data, to the people, to what is not being said.
Scale is not a virtue here. Every gathering, every cohort, every engagement is deliberately contained so the conversation can go deep.
A decade in refugee resettlement, workforce development, and organizational design is not background. It is the method.
We do not coach women to survive broken systems. We work with organizations to rebuild the systems themselves.
The most underutilized resource in the world is a woman who has not yet been given the right conditions to lead.
